Qwombat
NOTE:
The game uses explicit dialogue and possibly suggestive themes.
QUICKSTART GUIDE:
Move the arms to collect weapons.
Weapons are used to fight the two-dimensional monsters within the game.
Fights with monsters will automatically be resolved; no need to worry. Win or lose; The bottom left corner of the screen shows the result. As you take damage, your gentlemanly suit (health) in the bottom right will start to degrade.
Various "Quick Time" events in the form of road blocks will appear. These do not require interaction, but were added to make you feel like a badass as you slog along.
If it feels like you're just playing as a windshield wiper knocking away things, that's the right feeling.
CONTROLS:
It's worth noting that when you are controlling the character's arms, you should think of rotations.
'Q' and 'W' will rotate the left forearm.
'U' and 'I' will rotate the right forarm.
'A' and 'S' will rotate the left upper-arm.
'J' and 'K' will rotate the right upper-arm.
GAME SUMMARY:
Qwombat is a game designed to play similar to a difficult to control old school track and field that you likely have played. The forearms are intended to be rotated independently of the upper arm. This adds the familiar unpredictability of games within the target genre.
NOTES ABOUT DEVELOPMENT:
100% of all music, voice acting, art, programming, and design was done during the game jam.
Absolutely NO generative AI was used in making the beautiful artwork or code.
It may seem like there's quite a lot going on in this game. Well, we had a wide variety of friends working on the project and everyone was able to try out new techniques and have fun.
